Talk about last minute postings ....Lol
I am off tommorow (Sat 1/4/06) and going to ride thru National Park to Headlands Hotel for lunch.
Anyone interested leave a message here.
I'm thinking of a 11am meet up just before you enter the Royal National Park at the Sutherland end.
You'll get to go over the new Bridge at Stanwell Tops.
Headlands has great views, good food, but bring a sun hat, they seem to be lacking in umbrella shades on the outdoor tables.
Cheers: Jaq.
Aplogies for last minute post.
Talk about last minute, jaq, tomorrow's April 1, not March 31, or have you already been?? :P
today is the 31st...I think you mean saturday april 1st....
or is this ride an april fools joke to get everyone out of bed early??:P:P

@#*&$
You keep doing this to me Jaq!
Wish I could but I can't
My bike is having it's PMS at the moment.
Jaq suspects the carburetor's got some crap in it, so I'll try to pull it apart to clean it.... This would be a challenge and will take at least one full day! (and another full day to put it back together  )
All I have is XR manual (there's no SL manual available anywhere).
Housemate's away but I've got permission to his toolbox
Mind you, this is my first DIY on any machine
I am a risk taker

Gevasco and Chrisse: I'm trying really hard to say nothing about the brand of bike you guys are riding.
Imagine a completly innocent look on my face here.
Don't pull the carbie off Chrisse, just find that drain screw and let some petrol run out.
You can pull the carbie off later if plan A fails mate.
Always start with the simplest solution first.

Yeah, yeah, yeah  . It was actually a road trauma that caused my problems. Somehow had a small rock thrown up and sideways into the fan which then jammed and broke. I was also worried that it was a material defect but not so.

I thought maybe the cause was that whine I heard when we were at Bondi (the fightclub) Beach mate. LOL.

We had a good ride out today ,nice weather ,just a litle windy .
We rode down threw the RNP up to stanwell tops ,there is a great little spot for a stop and a rest at stanwell tops on a windy day ,i think its called Loo Loos . No coffee but and only 1 seat. .
Rode back along the old highway ,stoped and checked out the temple ,and on to Gymea for a burger and a chat ,then home.
Cheers for the run ,Jaq and T see you tuesday night.

Just as well only the three Muskateers went, saying it was windy is like saying the sun is bright.
In the Natio branches were being blown off trees everywhere, Jaq had one crash down on helmet, Mr T had one brush his arm.
We could have used the bikes for hang gliders at Stanwell Tops.
Sky was as black as sin.
Huge white caps out at sea.
We abandoned pub idea and fled back to Gymea for a cafe stop.
I don't know if Wollongong is still there?
RE: The Stanwell stop...guys...don't say I do not not take you to the best places yeah?
Yikes! Glad they didn't hit you both too hard.
Very windy in Melb today too, but not quite as bad as yourselves. Sounds like you still had a good ride though.
how did your bike go in the wind sled ?

Sideways as usual
I tryed sitting almost on the tank ,and leaning forward abit more gave me alot more bend in the arms seemed to help abit ,just couldn't sit like that for more then 1hr.
If anyone likes venison ,theres a nice big deer near the waterfall exit ,if your hungry ,he's not going any where soon.
I rode down past Ulladulla today, talk about getting blown around! On the hills near Kiama it was quite bad. Ran into a massive downpour just south of Nowra as well, didn't have any wet weather pants either! Apart from that it was good

Haggis: Rain gear...don't leave home without it.
It was quite cool at Stanwell Tops, you must have been frozen in wet jeans and a cold wind?
We were a little chilly ourselves, and bugger me it's the first cold day we've had.
Ah winter riding, nothing like it.
Bracing I think the expression is.
I was chatting to an Irish rider in the Loo cafe today , he and I agreed it was just like a normal summer's day in Eire.
I was riding around Ireland one summer, I never took me Dri-Rider suit or goretex gloves off once.
I remember doing the Strangraer road, from Carlise in Scotland to the ferry depot for Northen Ireland. 87 miles of great curves and long straights, castles appearing along the roadside out of the mist, herds of deer with their Antlers on, striding across the private estate grounds.
Middle of a summers day, 5 degrees.
Jaq, I always take wet weather gear when going south. Well I always did until today  Yep was freezing when I got to my daughters. Rode back in a pair of son in laws jeans. he's six foot, I'm five five.
Yes there are great roads all over the UK, never did any on a motorbike but covered a lot of them on pushies.
Did a lot of potato picking around Stranraer/Newton Stewart
